Council reconsiders Christmas on the Creek funding

A large crowd of Christmas on the Creek representatives filled the room at Monday’s Lampasas City Council meeting so they could take time to explain why they want the city to continue funding the Christmas lights that are put up each year in the park.

Midday blaze erupts at west Lampasas residence

Emergency responders were alerted about a house fire Wednesday afternoon at the corner of West First Street and Race Street. Fire Marshal Bart Baker is continuing his investigation. More information about the fire and another photo are inside on page 13.

Houston Livestock Show awards record-setting scholarship totals

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials have announced that 529 Texas students will receive $20,000 scholarships to support their college endeavors. This is part of the organization’s $14.7 million scholarship commitment – a number that continues to grow each year.

Lady Badgers win district opener at Taylor

Tuesday was the district opener for Lady Badger volleyball. It came on the road against Taylor.The Lady Badgers won in four sets -- 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23 -- to start the district season 1-0 and capture their first district match in the last two seasons.
