Photographer Patsy Stoneham captured this image of the moon Monday night in west Lampasas. The Harvest Moon is the name given to the full moon that is closest to the autumn equinox. The Oct 6 moon was expected to be the largest and brightest full moon of the year so far.

Voters to consider changes to the Texas Constitution

In odd-numbered years such as 2025, the November General Election includes for voter consideration any proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution that passed during the recently concluded legislative session.The 89th Texas Legislature has offered 17 constitutional amendments this year.

Livestock association eyes parking lot improvements

The Lampasas County Livestock Association is planning to upgrade the parking area at its show barn to make it more accessible for residents and exhibitors. Funds raised from this year’s Reverse Raffle on Oct. 25 will go toward the new project.

Lampasas County moves to ‘abnormally dry’ on drought map

As rainfall across the area diminishes, drier conditions are beginning to settle into Lampasas County.The U.S. Drought Monitor’s map released on Oct. 2 shows 71% of the county is deemed “abnormally dry.” Eastern portions of the county remain unaffected by the lack of recent rainfall.
