Trying to reach the cupola

RKJ Construction had specialized equipment on hand Monday to reach the cupola atop the courthouse. Crews spent significant time trying to navigate safely to that height so they could do painting and sealing on the exterior.
High-powered telescopes and astronomers will be available Oct. 18 at Fiesta Winery for a Star Party at 6 p.m., hosted by Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky. The county has some of the darkest skies in the Hill Country, which makes for perfect viewing opportunities.

Lampasas Methodist Church held its annual Fall Festival Oct. 4.“It was a beautiful day of smiles, fun times and memories made,” festival chairman Vickie McQueen said. “Many volunteers helped make it a huge success!

Parental rights advocate to speak to Lampasas group

Texas First Conservative Alliance will meet Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the county annex building at 409 S. Pecan St. The public is encouraged to attend for a special presentation on parental rights and protecting children from potentially harmful content in school libraries.
