Debbie Kuker to headline MORE women’s event

MORE, a multi-church women’s ministry, will host its annual event this year on Oct. 9 from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at The Adelphia, 101 FM 580 East. The evening will include refreshments, music and an inspiring message from Debbie Kuker.

Grief support group begins its meetings for fall session

GriefShare is a recovery seminar and support group for men and women who have suffered the death of a loved one. The group meets in the First Baptist Church fellowship hall, 402 S. Key Ave. in Lampasas each Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The fall group will extend until Dec. 12.

Our water supply: a historical perspective

EDITOR’S NOTE: Lampasas historian Jeff Jackson has researched a number of history topics. The following tells about the municipal water supply, of which Jackson says, “Give us time, someday the faucet is going to run dry.” The Water Works is a space on the Monopoly board game.

Lampasas woman injured in Key Avenue collision

A two-vehicle accident on Monday sent a Lampasas woman to the hospital with minor injuries. Lampasas Police Patrol Lt. Chuck Montgomery said a collision was reported at 7:34 p.m. near the 7-Eleven convenience store just south of the FM 580 East intersection.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday to continue the July term. Lampasas County Sheriff Department Investigators Wayne Hilgenberg, Matt Barnes and Nick Roberts brought information that resulted in the following indictments.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Sept. 13 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 382, compared to 416 last sale and 379 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $5 higher.
