CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Sept. 20 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 657, compared to 382 last sale and 469 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were unevenly steady.

LAFTA adds new pieces to Sculpture Garden

Lampasas Association for the Arts placed 10 new art pieces in the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden on Sept. 16. The sculptures were installed with assistance from the Odom family, local citizens and members of the all-volunteer LAFTA board.

No service planned for former sheriff Morris

Former sheriff Gordon Earl Morris, 76, died on Aug. 31, 2023 in Lampasas. No services are planned at this time. He was born on May 9, 1947, in Fort Davis to Edmond Duane Morris and Lillian Margaret Clark Morris. Morris grew up in West Texas and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1965.
