Sign-up available for ranching programs in Goldthwaite, San Saba

AgriLife Extension Service has a couple of seminars planned before the end of the month. Hill Country Cattleman’s Conference is set for Oct. 25 at Jordan Cattle Auction, 1310 U.S. Highway in San Saba. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the program to extend from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Upcoming events at the Lampasas Senior Center

The Lampasas Multi-Service/Senior Center has a number of events scheduled for the fall months. On Oct. 24 at 11 a.m., Karen DeZarn from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services Lampasas office will discuss the importance of nutrition for seniors. On Nov. 2 at 10 a.m.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Oct. 18 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 501, compared to 441 last sale and 850 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, stockers were $3-$5 lower due to quality; feeder steers and heifers were $5-$7 higher.
