It's wonderful to have the opportunity to connect with you through this mayoral column, and I appreciate your enthusiasm for the resilience and vitality of Lampasas citizens. It's evident the community has a strong desire to make Lampasas, Texas, a great place to live.

The report from the Nov. 1 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 137, compared to 241 last sale and 565 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $3-$5 higher on a limited test.

In mid-September, rainfall of 2.4 inches was recorded at the Lampasas Municipal Airport, according to the National Weather Service. Another quarter of an inch fell between Oct. 4-5, and a full 3.5 inches fell between Oct. 23 and Oct. 26. Another half an inch fell Oct.

Boil water notice rescinded

Lampasas city officials have announced the boil water notice was rescinded as of 11 a.m. Friday. Results from water tests taken on Thursday came back as sanitary and safe for human consumption.

Kingsbery to challenge Spiller for Texas House District 68 seat

Businesswoman Kerri Kingsbery of Cooke County is eyeing a primary challenge against Rep. David Spiller for Texas House District 68, which includes Lampasas County. Kingsbery said she believes Spiller let down his constituents when he voted in May to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton.

SALUTE TO VETERANS Lampasas Middle School invites veterans and their family members to breakfast Friday in the school cafeteria. Serving begins at 8:30 a.m. A special Veterans Day program will follow in Bozarth-Fowler Gymnasium. Guests should be seated by 9:15 a.m.
