KWSC shifts down to stage 3 water conservation restrictions

The Kempner Water Supply Corp. announced Wednesday it has reduced drought restrictions down to stage 3. Customers have sustained stage 4 drought restrictions since July 24. The city of Lampasas is yet to make a decision on whether it will reduce conservation measures from stage 4 to stage 3.

Veterans Day observance set for 11 a.m.

The city of Kempner will honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces with a special program on Saturday. The Veterans Day ceremony at Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park will begin at 11 a.m.

Christmas Concert slated for Dec. 12

The 36th annual Pierian Christmas Concert has been scheduled for Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 402 S. Key Ave. in Lampasas. The concert will include music by D’Anne Willis and Alicia Straley, who will present time-honored Christmas favorites.

Voters ratify 13 of 14 amendments on ballot

Texas voters who participated in the Nov. 7 Constitutional Amendment Election approved all but one of the changes proposed for the state constitution.

For U.S. Army veteran Tim Weinrick, Veterans Day is a reminder of the brotherhood among the soldiers with whom he served. Now serving the community as Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department assistant chief, Weinrick comes from a long line of military service members.

Turkey Run Playday set for Nov. 12

5 Hills Cowboy Church is hosting a Turkey Run Playday on Nov. 12. The event will take place at the 5 Hills Arena, 2380 FM 2808 in Kempner. Warmup will begin at 12:30 p.m., exhibition is at 1 p.m. and the event starts at 2 p.m.

Community receives award for blood drive efforts

The Lampasas community has been awarded the top award from the area American Red Cross for its blood drive efforts in 2022. Blood drive coordinator Wanda Lang attended the Central and South Texas Region Blood Program Leader Recognition Ceremony Oct.
