Pierian Club hears presentation on olives and oils

“Olive oil has been celebrated for centuries as a cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet and as a golden elixir for health,” Gulay Akkus-Nart, a Burnet County resident and importer of olives and olive oil, told members of the Pierian Club during their October meeting.

Veterans Day/Thanksgiving set for Saturday

The Lampasas Veterans of Foreign Wars and Lampasas Community Kitchen are partnering for to hold their Second Annual Veterans Day/Thanksgiving meal. Organizers said they welcome donations. The event will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at VFW Post 8539 in Lampasas.

Nov. 11 holiday holds strong meaning for active-duty soldier

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Jacob Robert Easter of Lampasas was sentenced to six years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for violating a bond/ protective order-assault/ stalking.
