Museum names winners in Tree Decorating Contest

Decorated Christmas trees were on display last weekend at the Lampasas County Museum. Groups could enter a tree based on the theme “A Sesquicentennial Christmas,” in honor of the city’s 150th birthday. Named Best of Theme was the entry from Lampasas Association for the Arts.

Student to perform in ballet production

Lampasas Middle School student Hayden Harton will be dancing this year in the Harmony School of Creative Arts production of “The Gifts of Christmas.” The ballet combines elements of “The Nutcracker” with some of the more traditional Christmas songs the dancers perform to, such as “O Holy Night.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Juan Rodriguez of Mineral Wells entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to six years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for driving while intoxicatedthird or more.
