Galvan issues plea in child assault case

A Taylor man and multiple felony offender has pleaded guilty in a Lampasas child sexual assault case. Andrew James Galvan, 51, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, a firstdegree felony, on Dec. 1. His trial had been set for Dec.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Lerone B. Skinner of Cedar Hill was given 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, probated for 10 years, on his charge of driving while intoxicated-third or more.

Richards sentenced on drug charge

A Harker Heights man entered a guilty plea Dec. 8 to a first-degree felony drug charge. His plea was entered in the 27th District Court of Lampasas County. Darryl Thomas Richards, 56, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened last week, as the July term comes to an end. A new group will be impaneled next month.

City revisits agreement on hike and bike trails

In a workshop Monday night, the Lampasas City Council discussed the formal agreement with a local bicycling group for continued development of the hike and bike trails at the 580 Sports Complex.

Commissioners Court OKs new septic rules

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court has approved three rules for on-site sewage facilities. These rule changes are to be reviewed by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality. Action came during Monday’s regular meeting of the court.
