The report from the Feb. 14 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 367, compared to 604 last sale and 559 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls $2-$4 higher.

Polling places open today for those interested in casting an early ballot in either the Democratic Party Primary Election or the Republican Party Primary Election. The official election date is March 5. Lampasas County offers early voting at the Elections Administrator’s office, 407 S. Pecan St.

Casino Night draws big crowd

Sam Houston State University Sam Houston State University in Huntsville has released its lists of honor students for the fall 2023 semester. Undergraduates with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in all work attempted were recognized on the President’s List.
