36 Club learns more about federated women’s history

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs-36 Club Lampasas Chapter met Feb. 8 at First Presbyterian Church. The program was related to the history of how the General Federation of Women’s Clubs was established internationally, nationally and within Texas.

ARRESTS

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Feb. 21 Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 318, compared to 367 last sale and 411 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $3-$5 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls also $3-$5 higher.

Crowd on hand for candidate forum

A crowd of approximately 200 Lampasas County residents flooded the old Lampasas Middle School cafeteria Tuesday evening for a candidate forum hosted by the Lampasas County Republican Party and Texas First Conservative Alliance.

Lampasas County’s congressman in Washington, D.C., has been named an impeachment manager for the Senate impeachment trial of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. U.S. Rep.

Early voting continues through March 1 for the Republican Party and Democrat Party primaries. The conference room at the county annex, 409 S. Pecan St. in downtown Lampasas is the sole location for early voting. The Dispatch Record incorrectly listed a different site previously.
