New council members sworn into office

Woman pulled to safety from Lampasas River

A 45-year-old woman holding onto a tree limb in the Lampasas River was rescued last week by a Lampasas County sheriff’s deputy and a Kempner police officer.LCSO Chief Deputy Kodie Greenburg said medical evaluation by Hamilton EMS showed the woman sustained no injuries.

Republican, Democratic runoffs set for May 28

Runoff elections for a State Board of Education seat and a 3rd Court of Appeals judicial post will take place May 28.The Republican Party primary runoff election for a State Board of Education District 10 member is between incumbent Tom Maynard and Mary Bone.
