Community Champions recognized

The Lampasas ISD Special Olympics team was recognized as a Community Champion during a City Council meeting on Monday. The program provides opportunity for local athletes to compete in bowling, basketball, and track and field.

Lampasas ISD to offer summer meals at two campuses

Lampasas ISD Nutrition Services will offer healthy, no-cost summer meals to children ages 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old.The summer meal program kicks off at Hanna Springs Elementary School on May 21, with breakfast served from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

grand jury

Lampasas County grand jury convened last week to continue its January term.Investigator Tony Auch of the state fire marshal’s office presented information that resulted in the indictment of Johnny Morales on a charge of arson on Feb. 4.

district court

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Gilbert Elias Ayala of Lometa entered a guilty plea to a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a drugfree zone.
