Kempner to host Memorial Day ceremony

The city of Kempner will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday at the Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park at 10 a.m.Kempner Mayor John Wilkerson will offer a welcome, followed by an invocation from Municipal Judge Gene Isenhour.Posting of the colors will be provided by the U.S.

Early voting ends today in runoff elections

Early voting ends today in runoff elections for the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Balloting is offered from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the county Election Office, 407 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas.

Cleanup begins after storms scatter debris on roadways

Across Texas, sales tax rebates flat for May

Kempner and Lometa posted the highest percentage gains for sales taxes in May among entities in Lampasas and the surrounding counties. The city of Lampasas didn’t share in that revenue growth, however.

Flood watch still in effect Thursday morning

Lampasas County will face another round of thunderstorms this morning, and flooding remains possible. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch that will remain effective through 1 a.m. Friday morning for Lampasas, Hamilton, Coryell, Bell and surrounding counties.
