Blood drive donors reach milestones

American Red Cross Community Blood Drive coordinator Wanda Lang reported a successful event last week. The Lampasas blood drive saw 64 units donated on May 14.“We had several first-time donors,” Lang said.

Hancock Springs pool to open; Texas Monthly plans feature on it

Hancock Springs Free-Flow Swimming Pool underwent a deep cleaning this week to prepare for its opening on Saturday for the long Memorial Day weekend.Beginning Saturday, the Hancock Springs pool will be open through Monday from noon to 6 p.m.

NWS officials: More sudden severe storms possible this weekend

A tornado warning and flash flood warning were issued for the county on Wednesday evening, and storms in the area resulted in heavy rains, strong winds and reports of damages to trees and buildings.
