The ’36 Club honors longtime members, installs new officers for 2024-2025

The GFWC ‘36 Club of Lampasas had a very full May.On May 4, the club cosponsored a Walk in the Parks event showcasing the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden within Campbell Park, Lampasas Community Gardens and Cooper Spring Nature Park.

Project to digitize county records set to commence

A project to index and digitize the land records in the Lampasas County Clerk’s Office is set to begin next month. The project includes deeds, deeds of trust, abstracts of judgment, lien records and lis pendens dating from 1994-2024.

Lometa ISD celebrates successes, names new campus principal

Lometa Independent School District’s Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday, with the primary purpose being a budget workshop and discussion of new hires.During administrative reports, Superintendent Rob Moore expressed pride in the success of the district during the school year.

Kempner council debates merits of having fulltime police chief

In a lengthy Tuesday workshop session, the Kempner City Council eyed the possibility of converting its part-time police chief into a full-time position. In order to fund that change, however, a taxrate hike is needed.The Kempner Police Department has employed a part-time chief since June 2021.
