Toddlers to ‘race’ in Friday Diaper Derby

How fast can a tot toddle, if the tot’s toddling with other tots? Answers to this riddle will be served on the day of the Spring Ho Festival Diaper Derby, a long-held toddler racing competition and familyfavorite event.

Paws on patrol: Pet Parade to highlight area’s furry residents

Prepare for the patter of paws in procession around the courthouse square! Immediately following the Diaper Derby on July 12, families can enjoy another wholesome event in downtown Lampasas. The Pet Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. after the conclusion of the Diaper Derby races.

Handiwork, skills to be displayed at County Fair in new setting for 2024

Do you have a green thumb, flair with a paintbrush, a talent for textiles or expertise with photography? The 2024 Spring Ho’s County Fair is the perfect place to showcase those skills.

Singers to entertain at park gazebo

While at W.M. Brook Park to visit vendors and concessionaires, Spring Ho visitors also will be treated to musical entertainment from area singers on July 12 and July 13. On the schedule for Spring Ho Friday are Brandy & Mike at 2 p.m., Clara Elkins at 3 p.m. and Catfish Baird at 5 p.m.

LISD revisits vape policy, incentive program for teachers

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees readdressed the district’s vape policy during Monday’s regular meeting and approved an agreement with the Region 12 Service Center to receive support for a potential Teacher Incentive Allotment program.
After year-long preparations by committee volunteers, the 2024 Spring Ho Festival is ready to begin on Monday. The city of Lampasas may soon seek a new Economic Development Corp. director after the resignation of Stacey Ybarra in June.City Manager Finley deGraffenried said Ybarra’s last day was June 24.“I’m going into the private sector,” Ybarra said. “I’m looking for those types of opportunities.
