2024 STAAR test scores released

Lampasas Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Dana Holcomb reported positive results for 2024 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness or STAAR scores at July’s school board meeting last week.

HVAC unit needed for Kempner City Hall

The Kempner City Council canceled its Friday called meeting after a quorum of members was unavailable to consider an air-conditioning replacement unit. Mayor John Wilkerson and Place 2 Thomas Combs were the only members of the council present.

Lometa Police Chief resigns

Third in a streak of sudden departures, Lometa Interim Police Chief Linda Mauldin issued her resignation late Friday evening. Mauldin said the decision was completely voluntary and not motivated by any impending firing.
