Boil water notice rescinded

Two boil water notices were issued for Lampasas residents last week due to low water pressure. Both have since been rescinded.In a news release posted Saturday morning, Lampasas city officials issued a boil water notice for an affected area near south U.S. Highway 281.

Local entities receive September sales tax rebates

September sales tax rebates to the Texas cities, counties and special purpose districts that assess a local levy showed an average increase of 6% compared to the same month last year. State Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported that total allocations across the state topped $1.1 billion this period.

Burn ban in effect for county

At Monday’s meeting of the Lampasas County Commissioners Court, the order restricting outdoor burning was renewed.The county burn ban now is in effect until Dec. 9.

Producers happy to be baling hay once again

The last two years of the hay forecast have been replete with dismal news and represented one more struggle Lampasas County producers had to endure. For this season, at least, the forecast appears much better than the previous two.

Over the last three years, Lampasas Independent School District has taken steps to improve safety at each of its five campuses.To start the 2024-2025 school year, LISD has a school resource officer stationed at each of its campuses for the first time.

Local real estate professionals have marked a distinct change in the market since the rush of 2020, but that doesn’t mean another craze isn’t ahead.The real estate industry accounted for $453.7 billion or 17.7% of the gross state product in 2023.

National Night Out in Lampasas scheduled for Oct. 1

The annual National Night Out event is set for Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m.Members of the Lampasas Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies will be in the H-E-B store parking lot on Key Avenue to connect with community members.
