Community Bridge offers slam prizes

Club members hear presentation on growing cactus plants

On Sept.16, the L-M Garden and Civic Club of Lometa held its first meeting for the 2024-2025 year. The meeting started with refreshments and fellowship, then moved into the regular business meeting.A drawing for the raffle of a Kindle and a pink cooler took place.

Recognizing Constitution Day

Pocket copies of the U.S. Constitution were donated by the Lampasas Republican Club to seniors and eighth-grade students in the Lampasas and Lometa school districts on Sept. 17 in honor of Constitution Day.

Youth ministry plans annual banquet

Lampasas County Young Life will hold its annual fundraising banquet Oct. 13 from 5-8 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, 2974 U.S. Highway 281 South in Lampasas.This marks the 10-year anniversary of the youth ministry. The event will offer a meal, live and silent auctions, and entertainment.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Stanley Eugene Douglass of Kempner entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault on a family/household member with a previous conviction.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened last week to continue the July term.

ARRESTS

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Atmos conducts gas burnoff

Atmos Energy is conducting routine maintenance in Lampasas for the removal of natural gas.In a news release, Atmos Energy officials said the company is working within city limits this week as well as on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
