Genealogy, the study of tracing one's family history, is an important journey into the past.For those interested in getting started, the Lampasas County Historical Commission is hosting a beginners' class in genealogy on Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lampasas Public Library.

Former mayor to face trial

A former Kempner mayor will face trial Oct. 23 on a charge of indecent assault.Keith Lanard Harvey, 51, was arrested July 10, 2023 on a charge of indecent assault, a Class A misdemeanor, in addition to two other charges.

Praying for our schools and community

On Wednesday morning, a group of students and teachers gathered outside Lampasas High School for a See You at the Pole prayer event. Participants were split into groups and spent time praying with each other before the school day began.
