Lampasas Middle School will offer a special program Nov. 8 as a salute to Veterans Day and military service personnel. Veterans are invited to have breakfast in the middle school cafeteria, beginning at 8:30 a.m., then join students in Bozarth-Fowler Gymnasium at 9:15 a.m. for the program.

Stormy weather predicted for Monday afternoon

At midday Monday, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Lampasas, Hamilton, Bell, Coryell and surrounding counties due to severe storm forecasts later in the afternoon.

Not guilty!

Nearly a year after an accusation of wiretapping that led to her arrest, former Lometa police chief Melissa Cantu was acquitted of the felony charges on Oct. 28.  Cantu faced a trial by jury last Monday in the 27th District Court of Lampasas County, where defense attorney R.C.

CASA receives $15,000 donation

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area was one of 16 Court Appointed Special Advocate programs to receive a portion of $130,000 raised by TXB Stores and McCraw Oil at a recent fishing and golf tournament in Pottsboro.
