Kempner council hears presentation on 911 services

Uryan Nelson, the director of planning and regional services for Central Texas Council of Governments, provided Kempner City Council members with insight into the creation of an Emergency Communications District. He made his presentation Tuesday night at the council’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Agriscience Advisory Council holds annual meeting

The Lampasas ISD Agriscience/FFA program advisory council gathered this week for its annual meeting. The large turnout of members convened at the Lampasas High School Career and Technical Education building.

Pecan Short Course planned in Goldthwaite for April 9

The annual Central Texas Pecan Program will be conducted by the Texas AgriLife Extension Office in Mills County on April 9 at the Mills County Civic Center, 1103 Cline St. in Goldthwaite. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the program will extend from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Middle school boys’ golf team wins Copperas Cove tournament

The Lampasas Middle School golf teams traveled to Copperas Cove on Tuesday for a tournament, and the boys emerged as first-place winners.The boys’ team also had the first-place individual finisher, as Layton Eckermann shot 36 in the nine-hole event.

Teacher placed on leave amid concerns on social media posts

Lampasas High School Principal Paul Weinheimer informed parents on Tuesday a teacher had been placed on administrative leave due to an “issue.”Superintendent Dr. Chane Rascoe said the teacher submitted a letter of resignation Wednesday afternoon.

Former mayor Harvey pleads no contest in assault case

A former Kempner mayor pleaded no contest Monday to a charge of indecent assault.
