Lampasas FFA students recognized as Star Greenhands

Lampasas FFA Star Greenhands were recognized recently at the Lampasas FFA banquet at the conclusion of the chapter year.The Star Greenhand award is presented to outstanding firstyear agriscience/FFA members who have shown exemplary effort in their FFA projects, teams and class work.

Animal shelter earns “no-kill” distinction

Lampasas Animal Shelter recently was recognized by the Best Friends Network as a documented No-Kill Shelter for 2024. The shelter exceeded a 90% save rate for cats and dogs during that calendar year.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court has convened several times in June, with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the hearings.At its June 13 setting: Defendant Miguel Angel Ayala of Lampasas entered a plea of true to a charge of burglary of a habitation.

ARRESTS

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

City holds session on water supply, quality

A few more than a dozen Lampasas water customers attended Thursday evening’s town hall at the former middle school cafeteria to hear updates on the city’s plans for maintaining water quality and quantity.

Lometa ISD to implement automotive class

Lometa ISD Board of Trustees met for its June meeting Monday night, with a focus on changes to student extracurriculars and updates to curriculum.To open the meeting, District Clerk Edith Wagner Harrison presented Superintendent Rob Moore with a check for $19,161.
