Kempner to host Veterans Day ceremony

The city of Kempner will honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces with a special program on Nov. 11. The Veterans Day ceremony at Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park will begin at 11 a.m.

Breed champion banner awarded

Cort Maples, a fifth-grader at Taylor Creek Elementary School, was named the Red Cross Breed Champion at the Heart of Texas Livestock Show in Waco this year with his steer Pepe’ Le Pew. The Premium Steer Show consisted of more than 500 head of steers and 18 breeds.

CEMETERY ASSOCIATIONS

The Kempner Cemetery Association’s annual meeting will be held Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Kempner Brick Oven, 12093 U.S. Highway 190 in Kempner (use entrance on Depot Avenue). The Board of Directors encourages all members to attend. For more information, call 254-290-3668.
