Browning Community Garden Club announces winners of its annual flower show

The Browning Community Garden Club held its annual flower show on May 4, with 157 entries across five divisions.Ann Laver won 13 first-place ribbons, which earned her the Sweepstakes Award. This rosette is given to the person with the most firstplace entries.Other winners are listed below.

Kline Whitis students recognized for rabies poster contest success

Seven Kline Whitis Elementary School students were recognized for their artistic efforts in the Texas Department of State Health Services’ annual Rabies Awareness & Prevention Poster Contest.The contest is open for all Texas students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Gerald Weber: Remembering the tube amplifier maker

Gerald Weber had a knack for creating the perfect sound with his Kendrick Amplifiers that have been used by star musicians like Eric Clapton and Willie Nelson. Weber, a Kempner resident, died April 17 at the age of 71 after a bout with cancer.
