Nonprofit helps animal shelter with feral cat population

Feral cat colonies can be a nuisance and health concern. One positive case of rabies in Lampasas County was reported within the last month and a half.When rabies is found in a feral cat colony, the entire colony must be euthanized.

Red Cross blood drive collects needed units to save lives

Donors at the recent American Red Cross Community Blood Drive in Lampasas contributed 53 units to help save lives of those in critical need of blood.Donations were taken from 46 area residents, and eight of those were Power Red donors, drive coordinator Wanda Lang said.
