Lampasas firefighter climbs to recognize 9/11 fallen

ALampasas firefighter recently climbed 110 flights of stairs to memorialize those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It’s a climb he makes every year.The attack on the Twin Towers in New York City took the lives of 2,977 people, including 344 first responders.

AdventHealth kitchen renovation becomes reality

AdventHealth Rollins Brook’s kitchen makeover is the latest renovation to be completed to boost the hospital’s facilities. The project’s fulfillment was celebrated Monday during a Kitchen Reveal Party and tour.

Red Cross blood drive collects over 75 units

A total of 77 units were collected from the American Red Cross Community Blood Drive in Lampasas at First Street Church of Christ last Tuesday.Drive coordinator Wanda Lang said blood donations were taken from 72 donors.

Taylor Creek hosts 9/11 remembrance ceremony

Taylor Creek Elementary School students, staff and parents gathered Wednesday morning to honor the sacrifices by first responders on Sept. 11, 2001.Wednesday marked the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City.

Donations sought for clothing drive

Saratoga Masonic Lodge #546 is holding a clothing drive to collect new or gently used clothing. Donations will be given to New Beginning of Restoration and Hope, a Lampasas-based non-profit community outreach organization.Donations will be accepted through Sept. 16.
