The Lampasas Public Library will host a number of events for kids and adults in the month of July.Today, Tuesday, 'Watermelon' story time is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. with representatives of Lampasas County Farm Bureau.

Lometa council agrees to place alcohol sales on ballot

The Lometa City Council opened its July 1 meeting with a public hearing on a proposed alcohol ordinance that would open the door to the on-premises sale of alcoholic beverages by restaurants within the city limits.The council received endorsement of the ordinance from the Lometa Chamber of Commerce.

NRCS extends sign-up period for water quality initiative

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service in Texas has announced an additional Fiscal Year 2024 sign-up for the National Water Quality Initiative offered through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program. NRCS Texas will consider NWQI applications received by Aug.

The 2024 Spring Ho Festival makes its debut Monday, with one of the signature events to start off the weeklong celebration.The Spring Ho Beauty Pageant is scheduled for 5:45 p.m., after live music by Zac and Marci Morris at 5 p.m., and opening ceremonies at 5:30 p.m.
