Key Club to host Pumpkin Crafts event at LHS

Lampasas Key Club is offering a Pumpkin Crafts event Monday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Lampasas High School cafeteria.This free event will offer pumpkin painting, crafts, games and other activities for youth.All supplies needed to participate will be provided.

Peterson recognized by state group for theater efforts at LHS, LMS

Lampasas High School theater director Greta Peterson received the Founder’s Award from the Texas Educational Theatre Association last month at the organization’s convention in Galveston.Along with her role as LHS theater director, she is the fine arts coordinator at Lampasas Middle School.

Historical Commission to observe Archaeology Month with special program

The Lampasas County Historical Commission will observe Archaeology Month in Texas with a special program on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Lampasas Public Library.

Blood drive Nov. 12 to honor the late Daniel Hodges

The next American Red Cross Blood Drive, scheduled for Nov. 12 in Lampasas will be held in memory of Daniel Hodges.Hodges died Oct. 3 of what is believed to have been a pulmonary embolism that led to a heart attack, his family said. He would have celebrated his next birthday on Nov. 10.

Students raise funds for Peyton Jones scholarship

Kline Whitis Elementary School kicked off October with its annual pie-in-the-face fundraiser to benefit the Peyton Jones Memorial Scholarship.This year, a total of $1,073.62 was raised. Funds will go toward scholarships for two Lampasas High School seniors.

Lampasas Texas Title set for official grand opening

Lampasas Texas Title will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, making it the newest business addition to the historic downtown square.Owner Ellie Orlando said she is excited to bring her vision of a title company to Lampasas County.“We have several orders in queue,” she said.
