Fish fry raises funds for Cooper Spring Nature Park

LHS sees success at UIL Regional meet

The Lampasas High School academics, speech and debate, and One-Act Play competitors had a successful weekend in Nacogdoches at the UIL Regionals April 24-25.

American Legion Post renamed to honor late Bob Wright, Jamie Briggs

A sizable group gathered April 22 at the Lampasas County Courthouse for a dedication ceremony that officially recognized the renaming of American Legion Post 277 in Lampasas as the Briggs Wright Post No. 277.

Taylor Creek students recognize Autism Awareness month

All 619 Taylor Creek Elementary School students came together this month to celebrate Autism Awareness and neurodiversity.The efforts were led by Katie Beshore, a special education teacher at Taylor Creek Elementary.

Community Bridge draws large group of card players

Community Bridge met April 13 with six tables of players competing. Margaret Oberender took first place, Martha Barrett was second, and Jim Hutchinson came in third.High round was claimed by Carolyn Anderson and Margaret Oberender. The slam prize went unclaimed for the second month in a row.

Central Texas chorus wins medals at Houston competition

Chisholm Trail Chorus, the premier women’s a cappella group in Central Texas, garnered three major awards at a regional contest recently in Houston.The group earned First Place Division A; Third Place overall; and Most Improved in the competition among eight choruses from Texas and Louisiana.

L-M Garden Club holds annual flower show

On the evening of April 20, L-M Garden and Civic Club held its annual Flower Show. Although it was a wet, cold and windy evening, there were many entries and members enjoyed lots of fun.
