Five Lampasas High School welding students have punched their tickets for state competitions next spring.The quartet of Casen Keys, Ebbin Cloud, Nathan Lee Clarkston and Levi Decker finished fourth in the build-off competition at the Texas High School Welding Series regional meet in Marshall on Oct.

A room full of volunteers receives instruction last week at the Lampasas Public Library in preparation for its annual BBQ for Books fundraiser. A barbecue brisket sandwich with all the fixings plus homemade Texas chocolate sheet cake was available at the drive-through event.
