First Street Church of Christ constructs new building for growing congregation

Construction is underway for a new Family Life Center at First Street Church of Christ. Church officials said the new building will allow for a larger area to host events and continue to serve a growing congregation.

Annual Christmas tree contest on tap at museum

It is time to prepare for the Lampasas County Museum’s annual Christmas Tree and Gingerbread House contests. The theme this year is “I’ll Be Home for Christmas: A Tribute to First Responders.” A prize will be awarded to the tree and the gingerbread house that come closest to the theme.

The Community Kitchen is hosting a Thanksgiving Veterans Day feast on Saturday at the Lampasas VFW Post from 5-7 p.m, The dinner is open to the entire community to come celebrate both Veterans Day and Thanksgiving, said Ginnefer Gass, lead founder of the kitchen. “We feed anybody in the community.

A capella groups to headline Songfest

Three singing groups will perform Saturday evening in Lampasas for Songfest 2022. The free concert is from 6-7:30 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ, 201 W. First St.

‘It’s Fall Y’all!’ celebration planned

Lampasas Community Gardens has slated special activities for Nov. 12 to celebrate “It’s Fall Y’all!” The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the garden site in Campbell Park, 501 E. North Ave. Food, music and special speakers will be featured.

School to host veterans breakfast

Lampasas Middle School has extended an invitation to veterans and their families to attend a special breakfast on Nov. 10 in the middle school cafeteria, 902 S. Broad St. Serving will begin at 8:30 a.m.

A capella groups to headline Songfest 2022

Three popular a capella singing groups are slated to perform in Lampasas for Songfest 2022. The concert is Nov. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ, 201 W. First St. Jim Rutland, of member of First Street’s Hims of Praise men’s group, has organized the event.
