Lodge to hold award ceremony

Saratoga Masonic Lodge #546 will have a ceremony Thursday at 7 p.m. to present its Golden Trowel Award. The lodge is at 1209 Central Texas Expressway in Lampasas.

‘Healthy Aging’ classes begin next week

County Extension Agent Karen DeZarn will offer a series of “Healthy Aging” classes at two locations. The program will be held on five Tuesdays beginning May 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Lampasas Multi-Service Center, 901 S. Live Oak; and on four Tuesdays beginning June 6 at 1 p.m.

This spring, Lampasas High School senior Anthony Barajas earned a top 10 finish at the FCCLA Texas state culinary competition. Barajas took third place at the mystery basket regional competition in Waco before advancing to the state contest, held at the Jack E.

L-M Garden Club holds new officer installation

Lometa L-M Garden and Civic Club had its monthly meeting May 15 at the club building, with the program being installation of new officers. About 18 members and guests were present. The business meeting was called to order by club president Debbie Hicks. Janie Potts gave the opening prayer.

Devlin Eveleth, 10, and his 8-year-old brother Shaemus were students at the Taylor Creek Elementary School until they died earlier this spring in a vehicle collision in Killeen. The two students were memorialized during a remembrance ceremony at the Taylor Creek campus Monday morning.
