On the hunt for some eggs?  Several Easter celebrations are planned this weekend, as churches and local businesses offer family fun to young ones on the lookout for prizes and candy. Here are a few Easter egg hunts scheduled across the area.

On March 22, GFWC Texas Capitol District held its 63rd Annual Spring Convention at the Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown. Thirty-three district clubwomen attended, including seven from Lampasas.

Good Friday fundraiser to benefit area 100 Club

In honor of the Hill Country 100 Club’s mission to support families of first responders killed or critically injured in the line of duty, McDonald’s in Lampasas will host its annual Good Friday fundraiser. On Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bridge players to meet April 10; reservations due

Winners at the March gathering of Community Bridge were Jim Hutchinson, first; Mary Lou Laird, second; and Billye Lively, third. The slam prize went to Barbara Mullican and Billye Lively. The next scheduled date for Community Bridge will be April 10 at 1 p.m.

class of 1983 The Lampasas High School Class of 1983 will hold its 40-year reunion on July 8 at 175 Private Road 3020 in Lampasas. “There will be time to visit that Friday evening as we set up, so join us,” reunion organizer Kaye Neumann McDaniel said.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the March 29 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 305, compared to 269 last sale and 504 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows were steady, and slaughter bulls were $2-$4 higher.

Circus coming to town today

Circus Wonderland is coming to Lampasas on March 31. The circus will feature juggling acts, a magician, acrobats, contortionists, hula-hoop artists, performing clowns and more. The circus will set up at the Lampasas County Show Barn at 283 U.S.
