Foust has her eyes set on new pastures

For some high school students, choosing a future career pathway can be tough. That cannot be said of Lampasas High School senior Alyssa Foust, however, who knows just what she wants to do.

Kempner VFD to host annual barbecue fundraiser

The Kempner Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 43rd annual barbecue and auction fundraiser on April 29. A barbecue meal will be served at 1 p.m., and a live auction will begin at 3 p.m. Food for the event will range from $10 to $15.

Summer is fast approaching, and Texas game wardens are working to inform residents of rules and regulations that will keep them safe on waterways. Lampasas County Game Warden Shaun Bayless is encouraging Texans of all ages to be safe when approaching water activities this summer.

When Jon Conway arrived in Turkey two days after the Feb. 6 earthquake rocked the country, the U.S. Army veteran was met with destruction unmatched in his previous experience.

The report from the April 12 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 371, compared to 323 last sale and 343 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $5-$10 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $3-$5 higher.
These students have advanced as UIL regional qualifiers after their district triumphs. The Lampasas High School UIL Academics team competed at the district meet March 24 in Burnet. LHS Speech & Debate teams had their district meet March 25 in Lampasas.
