Students head to state in UIL academic, speech competition

The Lampasas High School UIL Academics team and Speech & Debate qualifiers had a successful weekend recently in Nacogdoches, where several qualified for state competition.

CTC recognizes graduates of Ford technicians’ program

Central Texas College, Ford, Workforce Solutions of Central Texas and Transitions Assistance Support of San Angelo co-hosted a ceremony to recognize 13 students who recently completed the Ford Technicians of Tomorrow program.

Teddy Bear Tea Party set for May 6

Grab your plushie! The Lampasas County Museum’s annual Teddy Bear Tea Party will be held May 6 at 2 p.m. This event is for children ages 4 to 8. Children are encouraged to dress in their best and bring their favorite plush animal.

cauble cemetery Cauble Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting and workday on May 6 at Cauble Cemetery. Workday will begin at 8 a.m., with lunch and the business meeting planned for noon. Those coming to work should bring rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows.

River rescuers honored at Texas Capitol

On April 20, the Texas House of Representatives adopted House Resolution 1080 to honor first responders who participated last month in the river rescue of 9-yearold Luke Sappenfield and his 15-year-old brother, Hunter.
