In a very important game to boost the Badger baseball team’s chances to make the postseason, two pitchers dominated Lago Vista on the way to a 5-2 Lampasas win at home Tuesday night. Jonas Andersen went out Tuesday and controlled the Vikings for 5 2/3 innings.

Tuesday night, playing at home, the Lady Badgers struggled for four-plus innings and fell behind the Jarrell Lady Cougars early. Lampasas could not complete a late-inning comeback and lost 10-9.

Every year both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams receive awards for their accomplishments over the season. This year that awards banquet took place Wednesday night.

The Badger baseball team left many runners on base and missed the big hit last Friday night in the final game of the season against Jarrell. Trailing 8-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Timber Gholson reached on an error.

Next month, physicals will be offered to all current and future Lampasas athletes. On May 7 from 8-10 a.m., physicals will be given at Lampasas High School.

The Lady Badger softball team went into its game last Friday against Gateway with a chance to tie the Gators at the top of the district with a win. Unfortunately, they were held to just two hits by a great pitching performance in a 4-0 shutout loss.

A new head girls’ basketball coach has been selected for the Lady Badgers for the second time in as many years. This time the hire has been made from inside the Lampasas athletic program.
