Reid, Long advance past powerlifting regionals

Westen Reid advanced to state as the regional powerlifting champion of the 198 class with a three-lift total of 1,515.

John Long also advanced after placing third in the 308 class, by lifting the state-qualifying total. His total was 1,600 pounds.

Saturday's regional meet was held in Smithville. Lampasas placed sixth as a team, and West was the winning team.
