Janie Jean McCormick, 40, of Copperas Cove died at her residence on April 4, 2021.
She was born in Austin to Patrick and Janet Walsh McCormick on July 23, 1980. After growing up in Austin, she moved to Copperas Cove seven years ago.
Janie graduated from Bowie High School. She was a dog groomer and worked at Petco in Harker Heights. She was a true dog lover. Janie also loved to fish, mostly on Padre Island. She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick McCormick.
Janie is survived by her mother, Janet Walsh of Lometa; one son, Michael Durst of Tempe, Arizona; her boyfriend Russell Hobbs of Copperas Cove; one brother, Kyle Walsh of Austin, and one sister, Staci Waggoner of Leavenworth, Kansas; four nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service for Janie will be held April 10 at noon at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas, with Ricky Thornton officiating.
