Council approves new tax rate, budget

Lampasas City Council members voted Monday to establish the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 tax rate and approve the annual budget. In a unanimous vote, the council approved the first reading of an ordinance to establish the FY 20232024 tax rate as $0.304888 per $100 valuation, which will raise property taxes 4.92% compared to last year’s rate of $0.3156.

Commissioners Court to discuss reimbursement with KWSC

Monday morning’s meeting of the Lampasas County Commissioners Court was short, although the group continued its discussion about seeking reimbursement from the Kempner Water Supply Corp. In July, a leak in the water transmission line from Kempner to Lampasas required removal of a countyowned equipment shed.

Sales taxes take a dip in Lampasas

While the city of Lampasas was recording its largest one-month decline in sales tax receipts in more than a decade, Lometa posted its highest single-month percentage gain since 2017. Lampasas saw its sales taxes fall off 9% in September.
