Commissioners Court approves county budget, new tax rate

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Monday approved a 3.5% increase in general fund expenditures for the 2025-26 fiscal year and a one-cent decrease in the county’s tax rate.

Debris remains along Sulphur Creek

Brush debris from heavy July flooding remains on the side of Sulphur Creek near the Fourth Street bridge. Clean-up efforts from Forward Lampasas, a local non-profit, took place earlier this year with plans to create a walking trail along the creek.
