Texas Farm Bureau applauds new rules on diesel fuel as way to help ranchers

Gov. Greg Abbott signed a statewide disaster proclamation Monday, allowing expanded use of dyed diesel on Texas roadways.

Dyed diesel is off-road fuel marked red, typically used in agricultural operations, and sold without a motorfuels tax. Because it is untaxed, state law ordinarily bars its use on public roadways.
