Severe thunderstorm, tornado warnings issued Friday morning

Update: 
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for southern Coryell, southeastern Lampasas and northwestern Bell counties.
The warning was issued at 10:59 a.m. and remains in effect until 11: 30 a.m.
At 10:58 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Copperas Cove, moving northeast at 40 mph. Hazards include tornado and half dollar size hail. A NWS indicated rotation. 
“Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely,” officials said.
This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southern Coryell, southeastern Lampasas and northwestern Bell Counties, including the following locations; King, Topsey, Izoro, Rumley, Flat, Pidcoke, The Grove, and Owl Creek.
A tornado watch is also in effect until 6 p.m. for Lampasas, Hamilton, Bell, Coryell and surrounding counties.  

 

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lampasas County at 10 a.m. today. 
NWS meteorologists said at 10:04 a.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Colorado Bend State Park, or 12 miles west of Lampasas, moving northeast at 40 mph.
Possible hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Adamsville, Nix, Izoro, Lometa, and Rumley.
“For your protection get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows,” NWS officials said.
