Sales tax measure to appear on Kempner ballots

After some discussion during Tuesday’s Kempner City Council meeting, city officials decided to approve an election to increase the special sales tax levied within the city. The increase would raise the local sales tax portion dedicated to streets from 0.25% to 0.5%. The ballot measure will take place during the municipal election on May 6.
