Last week, the Texas House and Texas Senate agreed to a $18 billion tax cut for property owners. The tax relief package was enabled by a $32.7 billion budget surplus that has accumulated this year.
Gov. Greg Abbott is expected to give the legislation his signature in the coming days. He called the tax relief agreement a campaign promise fulfilled.
