Kempner council sets new tax rate, shifts city personnel

Kempner City Council members agreed to a slightly higher tax rate for the 20232024 fiscal year during Tuesday’s regular meeting. In a lengthy budget workshop, members unanimously agreed on a $0.28 tax rate per $100 in property valuation. This represents a 14.33% increase from last year’s $0.2449 rate.
