Grass fire on U.S. 281 blamed on hay baler malfunction, marshal says

A grass fire at 9405 North U.S. Highway 281 came within 60 yards of a residence on Tuesday afternoon. According to Lampasas Fire Marshal J.P. Harris, the cause of the blaze is believed to be a hay baler that caught on fire. Harris said the fire consumed about 25 acres, including 150 round hay bales.
