Sheriff Jess Ramos said his department is striving to maintain public safety in a growing county, despite a significant staffing shortage.
The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office is down four officers – an entire shift of deputies, Ramos said.
The hiring and retention challenges are due to a number of factors, the sheriff said.
